How to Best Take Your Courses:
Spending too much time in any one session will burn you out. Remember, our program actually challenges you to learn the material not just skim over text. We recommend you split up your efforts into 30-40 minute sessions. You can do more than one session per day (recommended) but try to do something every day. The consistency of effort (particularly for any prelicense course) is what will produce the best learning for you. As you work on the course, your time in each lesson is recorded as well as how many questions are presented, and how many attempts were required to answer the question correctly.
Requirements for Completing the Course:
To complete the course and receive your Certificate of Completion, you must successfully complete the following requirements:
• Complete ALL instructional lessons in the course by answering each question correctly at least twice. The questions are timed and need to be answered within the prescribed time for credit.
• Complete the Student Evaluation: You may access the evaluation by clicking the evaluation link on your course home page.
• Complete the Student Affidavit: Return a signed and dated student affidavit to the College of Continuing and Professional Education at Kennesaw State University when the course is complete. The student affidavit is a signed document from you certifying that you have personally completed each assigned lesson of instruction. The student affidavit must be returned to the school before you can receive credit for the course. (A student affidavit link will appear on your course home page upon completion of the course. Click on that link to obtain a copy of the student affidavit.)
• Pass Required Exam (if applicable): For prelicense and postlicense courses, there is a required proctored exam after all lessons are completed. You must pass the exam with a 72% or higher in order to receive credit for the course. Proctored Exams Proctoring services are separate fees and are not included in the course fee. Additional proctoring fees required by the proctor or testing center are the responsibility of the student to pay. Kennesaw State University’s Community and Professional Education is not responsible for proctoring fees incurred by the student. Online proctoring is available through PSI and information about it will be available when lessons are completed. Grading System/Minimum Grade Requirement The courses require active participation in each lesson and you must answer lesson questions correctly twice (100%) in order to proceed to the next lesson. There is no make-up work policy because all course work must be completed before taking the final exam.
For prelicense and postlicense courses, there is a required proctored exam after all lessons are completed. You must pass the exam with a 72% or higher in order to receive credit for the course. If you do not pass the final exam on the first attempt, you will be allowed an exam retake. If you do not pass the retake exam, you will not receive credit for the course. However, you will have the opportunity to purchase a retake of the course at a discounted price. If you do fail the course exam and purchase a retake, you will be required to start the course over and progress through each lesson again before you are allowed to take the final exam. Kennesaw State University’s Community and Professional Education will maintain your school records including your exam scores for five years at minimum.
Reporting Course Completion to the Georgia Real Estate Commission:
Kennesaw State University’s Community and Professional Education will be notified electronically when the student successfully completes the course work and submits their affidavit. If course requires a proctored exam, the student should schedule their proctored exam. The school will submit the student completion record online directly to the Georgia Real Estate Commission within three business days upon successful completion of a course. To avoid lapse in license renewal, it is the student's responsibility to complete online continuing education course requirements a minimum of three business days prior to the license expiration date and allow for timely reporting to the Georgia Real Estate Commission. It is the student's responsibility to provide the school with his or her correct real estate license classification number, and failure to do so will result in the student not receiving credit for the course. Students may contact the Georgia Real Estate Commission at (404) 656-3916 or visit www.grec.state.ga.us for license status information. Continuing Education Credit Students may not receive credit for any continuing education course that he or she has already taken within the previous 365 days.
Prohibition of Recruiting:
No recruiting for employment opportunities for any real estate brokerage firm is allowed in this class or on the school premises per Rule 520-2-.02(10). Report promptly any effort to recruit on behalf of a brokerage firm by anyone including a fellow student to Community and Professional Education, via email to online@kennesaw.edu or the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
Preliminary Decisions for Candidates for Licensure Having Convictions or Disciplinary Actions:
The Official Code of Georgia Annotated Section 43-40-15 provides in part that the Commission may deny a license to an applicant who has a prior criminal conviction9s) or disciplinary action(s) imposed by any occupational licensing body. Because of the time and expense involved in becoming an applicant for licensure, the Commission affords an individual who has not yet become an applicant the opportunity to request that the Commission make a preliminary decision on the conviction(s) or prior disciplinary action(s) before the individual takes the required education and examination for license.
